Knowing the Nature of Jaiz for Allah with Examples
YOGYAKARTA - The nature of Jaiz Allah must be known and believed by Muslims and Muslim women. By believing in it, we will always believe that Allah has the will to do everything or not. So, what is meant by the nature of jaiz Allah? What are the properties of jaiz for Allah? To find out, read the explanation below.
Knowing the Nature of Jaiz for AllahReferring to the Modul Sifat-Sifat bagi Allah Swt Program PPG Jabatan 2023 Kemenag RI, the nature of Allah's jaiz means a nature that can exist or not exist in Allah SWT.
The only attribute of Allah SWT is fi'lu kulli mumkin au tarkuhu (فِعْلُ كُلِّ مُمْكِنٍ اَوْ تَرْكُهُ), which means that Allah SWT has full power.
Thus, God has the authority or has the freedom to do something or not do something according to His absolute will and is not bound by anything.
The nature of jaiz for Allah is stated in the Qur'an, surah Al-Qashash verse 68 which reads:
And your Lord creates whatever He wills, and chooses. They have not the choice. そしてあなたの主は,御望みのものを創られ,また御望みのものを選ぶ。かれらには選択の余地はない。
Arabic: Wa rabbuka yakhluqu mā yasyā`u wa yakhtār, mā kāna lahumul-khiyarah, sub-ḥānallāhi wa ta'ālā 'ammā yusyrikụn.
"And your Lord creates whatever He wills and chooses. There is no choice for them. Glory be to God and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him)."
Through this verse, Allah wants to emphasize that only He can create and choose, and no other being or substance can interfere or hinder Him.
That way, everything that Allah wants will be done and everything that is not wanted will not exist.
Examples of the Jaiz property for GodQuoting the book Akidah Akhlak Madrasah Aliyah Kelas X by H. Aminudin and Jarjan Syuhada (2021), the following are some examples of the freedom that Allah has as an implementation of the property of jaiz:
Have the freedom to arrange all living beings according to His will.Allah SWT has the freedom to arrange all creatures in the universe. All creatures living in this universe are arranged according to the power and will of Allah SWT. As stated in Surah Ali Imran verse 26 which reads:
Say: "O Allah, Master of the Kingdom, You give the Kingdom to whom You will, and take it away from whom You will, You exalt whom You will, and abase whom You will. In Your hand is the good. You are Able to do all things. Katakanlah: "Ya Allah, Tuhan kami, Engkau berikan kerajaan kepada siapa yang Engkau kehendaki, dan Engkau cabut kerajaan dari siapa yang Engkau kehendaki, dan Engkau muliakan siapa yang Engkau kehendaki, dan Engkau hinakan siapa yang Engkau kehendaki. Dalam kekuasaan Engkaulah yang terbaik.
Meaning: Say (O Muhammad): "O Allah, You are the King, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and take the kingdom away from whom You will, You exalt whom You will, and abase whom You will. In Your hand is the good. You are Capable of all things.
Having the freedom to create and not create somethingWith the inherent nature of jaiz, Allah SWT has the will and freedom to create something and not create it. This must not be interfered with by all his creatures, including humans. Furthermore, humans have no power to reject the will of Allah SWT.
Man can only ask Allah if he has something he wants. This is stated in the Qur'an, surah Al-Qashash verse 68 which reads:
And your Lord creates whatever He wills, and chooses. They have not the choice. そしてあなたの主は,御望みのものを創られ,また御望みのものを選ぶ。かれらには選択の余地はない。
Meaning: And your Lord creates whatever He wills and chooses. There is no choice for them. Glory be to God and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him).
Have the freedom to give trials or pleasures to his servants.Referring to the book Akidah dan Akhlak untuk Kelas VIII Madrasa Tsanawiyah by Taofik Yusmansyah, Allah has the freedom to give trials to His obedient servants and give pleasure to His servants who often commit sins. This is part of His will, because He is the One Who Knows everything He does.
