TNI Deploys Helicopter to Transport 4 Tons of Logistics to Aceh Disaster Location
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) deployed the EC-725/H225M Caracal helicopter to deliver four tons of logistical aid to victims of disasters in Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh.
The Head of the TNI AU Information Service (Kadispenau) First Marshal TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana said the helicopter was deployed because the land route could not be passed until now.
"Distribution of assistance is carried out through air routes to reach areas that are difficult to access using land transportation because the routes are still cut off," said I Nyoman, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 17.
I Nyoman explained that the 4 tons of logistics contained basic necessities such as ready-to-eat food, drinking water, clothing, mattresses, and baby diapers.
All logistics were divided into seven villages in Bener Meriah Regency and Central Aceh Regency.
"The assistance was handed over to Rimba Raya Village, Bener Meriah Regency, with 1,000 kilograms. Meanwhile, Wihni Village, Silih Nara, Wih Porak, Arul Pertik, Pantan Tengah, and Paya Kolak Village in Central Aceh Regency each received 500 kilograms of assistance," explained I Nyoman.
I Nyoman continued, the distribution of logistics using helicopters was part of the TNI AU's efforts to recover the disaster-affected areas.
He ensured that all the main tools of the TNI Air Force weapons system (alutsista) would continue to be deployed to distribute logistical assistance.
