Indonesia Bidik Kampung Haji Land Near the Grand Mosque
JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia CEO and Minister of Investment and Industrialization Rosan Roeslani said Indonesia is currently following the bidding process or land auction for the development of Haji Village in Saudi Arabia.
Rosan explained that in the auction process there were eight plots of land offered. From this land, Indonesia chose plot number six which is located in the Western Hindawiah area because it is located on relatively flat and strategic land.
"The number 6 is called Western Hindawiah. It is almost the same distance of 2.5 kilometers from the Grand Mosque," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 17.
According to him, the interest in the land is quite high, namely around 90 bidders. However, Indonesia managed to enter the top two.
Rosan said the auction process was not based on price offers. The land price has been determined in advance by the local authorities.
This auction assessment is carried out based on the development plan, building design, and compliance with applicable regulations.
"The bidding process is through plans, drawings, then follow the rules and others and we are two big Alhamdulillah," he explained.
The auction winner will be announced as soon as possible at the end of December 2025 or January 2026.
Rosan hopes that Indonesia will succeed in obtaining the land so that Indonesian pilgrims and umrah can be served with facilities that are much better, more decent and closer than the current conditions.
"Of course this will add Insyaallah their focus when performing umrah and hajj," concluded Rosan.
