Prabowo Arrives in Padang, Reviews Again the Affected Areas of the Disaster

President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Padang, West Sumatra, to review the affected areas in the province.

Reported by ANTARA, the presidential plane PK GRD which was boarded by President Prabowo landed at the Minangkabau International Airport at 18.31 WIB, Wednesday, December 17.

The President's arrival was greeted directly by West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi and West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol Gatot Tri Suryanta. Those who accompanied Prabowo on the flight to Padang were Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

President Prabowo is scheduled to review a number of disaster-affected areas. This is the second time the Head of State has reviewed the location of the disaster in West Sumatra.

On Monday (1/12), the President had visited Padang Pariaman to visit the refugees.

President Prabowo has visited a number of flood and landslide disaster locations in Sumatra three times. Previously, on Monday (1/12), the President reviewed the areas affected by floods and landslides in Central Tapanuli Regency and North Tapanuli Regency in North Sumatra Province, South Aceh Regency in Aceh Province, and Padang Pariaman Regency in West Sumatra Province.

Furthermore, on Sunday (7/12), Prabowo headed to Aceh Province to review the points of damage and the significant impact of the flood in Bireuen Regency, as well as leading a special meeting to handle the Sumatra disaster in Banda Aceh.

After returning from a foreign state visit, the President continued his review on Friday (12/12) to Bener Meriah Regency and Aceh Tamiang Regency.

On Saturday (13/12) Prabowo visited the evacuation post for flood victims in Aceh Tamiang Regency, reviewed disaster victims in Takengon, Central Aceh, and visited the MAN 1 Langkat Evacuation Post in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, to hold a dialogue with affected communities.

Previously, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi said that a number of areas such as Solok City, Payakumbuh City and Bukittinggi City had started to stabilize and no longer required an emergency status.

However, other areas such as Agam Regency, Pariaman City, South Coast, and several other areas still need intensive handling. The number of refugees reached 20 thousand people.
