With its latest earnings, the film Agak Laen: Menyala Pantiku became the fourth highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time. The comparison of the number of viewers with the first film also only ranges from 1.2 million viewers.
His first film, Agak Laen which aired in 2024, received 9.1 million viewers and became the second highest-grossing Indonesian film.
If the number of viewers continues to increase until the end of the year, the long road to the top three highest-grossing films is getting wider. Of course, this is not an easy thing to do considering that the film Avatar: Fire and Ash as a tentpole film also dominates the cinema screen at the end of the year.
Previously, in celebration of 7 million viewers, the Agak Laen quartet marched in the Bundaran HI area, Central Jakarta, dressed as ghosts from their first film.
The four of them carried out a drunken act while calling on the public to donate to Sumatra, which is in need of assistance.
The film Agak Laen: Menyala Pantiku tells the story of four policemen who are assigned to find the killer of the mayor's son who is suspected of entering a nursing home. They do a disguise that takes them to something new.
At a press conference some time ago, Bene Dion as one of the actors admitted that he was more relaxed in his second film.
"The first film was really dizzy with the dialogue, but in the second it was more relaxed and it turned out that I could act," said Bene Dion.
