Triumph Tracker 400 Flat Track Style Officially Launched, Fuel Consumption is 28 Km per Liter
Triumph is expanding its mid-range motorcycle portfolio by introducing the Tracker 400 in the UK. This model adds to the options in the 400 cc entry level motorcycle segment, with a minimalist design approach inspired by American flat-track racing motorcycles.
Pre-orders for the Triumph Tracker 400 in the UK have opened with a deposit of 250 pounds, or around Rp5 million. The presence of this model is aimed at consumers who want a classic racing-style motorcycle, but are still comfortable using it on the highway.
In terms of design, the Tracker 400 adopts the typical characteristics of flat track motorcycles, from the round headlights, flat one-piece seat, wide and low handlebars, to the compact body. The exhaust is made slightly upward, while the side panels feature a "400" emblem with a tracker style.
The fuel tank carries a classic design with the inscription TRACKER. Triumph offers the Tracker 400 in three color choices, namely Aluminum Silver, Racing Yellow, and Phantom Black.
The driving position is designed to be upright and dominant, in line with the character of a tracker-style motorcycle. In terms of technology, the Triumph Tracker 400 relies on a TR series engine with a capacity of 398 cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, with four valves per cylinder.
The engine produces 42 PS of power and 37.5 Nm of torque, combined with a six-speed transmission as well as slip and assist clutches. Its specifications are similar to the Thruxton 400, but with a more aggressive engine rotation character for sharper driving response.
The safety and technology features are also quite complete, this motorcycle is equipped with traction control that can be activated or deactivated, dual-channel ABS, torque assist clutch, and full LED lighting system. As reported by Rushlane, Wednesday, December 17.
The frame used is a tubular hybrid steel frame with a bolted rear subframe. The front suspension system uses a 43 mm big piston USD fork with 140 mm travel, while the rear relies on a monoshock with 130 mm travel.
The Tracker 400 uses 17-inch rims in the front and rear, with 110/70-sized tires in the front and 150/60 in the rear. For braking, Triumph mounts a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc.
The instrument panel combines an analog speedometer with a multifunctional LCD screen. The height of the seat is 805 mm, the wet weight is 173 kg, and the fuel tank capacity is 13 liters. Fuel consumption is claimed to be around 28 Km per liter.
The Triumph 400 cc motorcycle has been quite popular in the 350 cc to 450 cc segment. The 400 tracker is produced in India and exported to the UK, but until now there is no certainty whether this model will be launched in other markets with a 400 cc engine.
