Indonesia's Archery Also Wows Gold in Recurve Doubles at SEA Games 2025

JAKARTA - The archery branch (cabor) managed to win gold medals from the women's and men's recurve doubles teams at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games, helping Indonesia get closer to the target in the biennial sports festival.

The first gold medal was presented by the women's recurve doubles team, which was strengthened by Diananda Choirunisa, Ayu Mareta Dyasari, and Rezza Octavia. The three of them performed solidly from the start of the final match to defeat Malaysia with a tight score of 5-3.

The bronze medal from this number was won by Vietnam. They deserved the third podium after defeating the host Thailand with a score of 6-0.

Head coach of the Indonesian recurve team, Hendra Setiawan, said that this achievement was a historic moment and the fruit of a long process that the team went through for the biennial event.

"Almost a year we have been training and the hard work was not in vain. The children performed amazingly, they showed maturity and readiness. They really brought out what we had trained," he said in a statement received.

After that, the men's recurve doubles team consisting of Ahmad Khoirul Baasith, Arif Dwi Pangestu, and Riau Ega Agata Salsabilla dominated the final match against Vietnam.

They won convincingly with a score of 6-0, securing the second gold for Indonesian archery. Meanwhile, the bronze medal was won by Malaysia after defeating Thailand with a score of 5-3.

Arif Dwi Pangestu and Rezza Octavia said they were quite satisfied with their performance even though the wind conditions on the field were said to be a little difficult.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you to the Government, thank you Mr. President. The bonus is not yet in mind, just save it first," said Rezza with gratitude, which was echoed by Arif.

The archery branch performed perfectly in today's match. After the women's and men's doubles, they also won gold in the women's and men's individual recurve sectors through Diananda Choirunisa and Riau Ega Agata Salsabilla.

Currently, Indonesia has collected 71 gold medals, nine of which were won today. The latest gold was won by Muhammad Aliansyah from the Greco-Roman wrestling event for the men's 67 kilogram.
