Polri's Kakorlantas prepares engineering on Bali to anticipate Christmas-New Year holidays traffic jams

DENPASAR - National Police Deputy Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho ensures the smooth flow of traffic to and within the Bali Island during the Christmas and New Year 2026 period.

When reviewing the implementation of Smart City Policing Road Safety, Agus said that the certainty had been tested directly from Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi crossing to Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana then heading to the city center of Denpasar and Badung and other cities in Bali.

"We have tried to cross from Ketapang to Gilimanuk and follow the route from Ketapang to the cities of Bali. For the Bali Police and stakeholders are ready to carry out Christmas and New Year operations," he said in Denpasar, Bali, Wednesday, December 17.

He said that during the Nataru period, his party not only focused on toll roads, but also included all arterial roads, crossing points, places of worship, and tourist attractions as the main concern.

Moreover, said Kakorlantas, Bali is the face of Indonesia in the eyes of the international community.

Therefore, Inspector General Agus reminded all personnel of the Bali Police Traffic Police to ensure that the places mentioned are smooth considering that the number of tourists coming to Bali is predicted to increase during the end of the year and New Year period.

"So, the road that leads to the tourist area and also this tourist spot must be managed well and the traffic engineering scenario that has been prepared," he said.

Traffic engineering also needs to be carried out, especially towards tourist routes.

Kakorlantas himself ensured that the Bali Police had made thorough preparations regarding this matter.

"I see that the Bali Police are ready and even yesterday sent a video of the tactical floor game and how to solve traffic problems in Bali. Hopefully, with the candle operation and the new year, Bali will be well controlled," he concluded.
