Hollow Knight: Silksong Hits 7 Million Players, Nintendo Switch Version 2 Released in 2026
JAKARTA - Developer and publisher Team Cherry announced that it will launch Hollow Knight: Silksong Nintendo Switch 2 Edition which will be released for free in 2026.
This edition will incorporate all of Silksong's updates and improvements on the platform, including high frame rate mode, higher resolution, and various additional graphic effects.
Interestingly, players who already have a copy of Hollow Knight on Nintendo Switch will be able to download the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free when it is released.
In preparation for the launch, Team Cherry will also update all versions of the original game on current platforms, with the addition of new features and bug fixes.
"As a preparation for the release, we will update all versions of the original game for current platforms, add features, and fix bugs," the developer wrote in its official announcement.
For PC players, some of these updates can already be tried through the public beta on Steam and GOG. This update includes full support for 16:10 and 21:9 aspect ratios, aimed at Steam Deck users and ultrawide monitors.
Hollow Knight: Silksong has also attracted more than seven million players since its release. The figure comes from the direct sale of the game, plus millions of other players who access it through the Xbox Game Pass service.
