Truk Sumbu 3 Restrictions on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Begins on December 19

JAKARTA - The Tangerang City Police (Polresta) in Banten will start imposing time restrictions on vehicles/trucks with three or more axles that pass on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, specifically in the Tangerang Regency area during the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) transportation period.

Tangerang Police Traffic Police Chief Iptu Kusmanto said the policy on restrictions for three-axle trucks will be in effect from December 19, 2025 to January 4, 2026.

"This restriction applies to three-axle vehicles carrying mines. Only essential loads such as groceries, fuel, livestock, and livestock feed are allowed," he explained as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 17.

The restriction on the activity of vehicles carrying goods will apply along the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, especially from kilometer 31 to 45 between the Jakarta-Merak line to the Sumatra Island crossing.

"The restriction of mining trucks and three-axle vehicles on toll roads is carried out to anticipate the occurrence of congestion on the free-flowing road at the Nataru moment," he explained.

During the period of restrictions, his party prepared the diversion of traffic flow. Where, the load vehicles were diverted to the arterial road.

Meanwhile, for operating hours, follow the Tangerang Regency Regulation (Perbup) Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Limitation of Operating Hours for Goods Vehicles.

"It is only allowed to pass between 22.00 WIB and 05.00 WIB. Outside that time it is not allowed to operate," he said.

In this case, the Tangerang Police Traffic Unit also anticipates the occurrence of vehicle congestion on the Tangerang-Serang Highway. Along the arterial road, there are five points prone to congestion.

"We will anticipate points that are usually crowded with vehicles such as in Bitung, Cikupa Market, Jayanti, Citra Raya, Cibadak and Tigaraksa red lights," he said.
