JAKARTA - The trial of open traffic (open access) Jalan Padang-Bukittinggi via Lembah Anai will be carried out starting Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 16.00 WIB until December 21, 2025 at 09.00.
Previously, information about the trial of the four-wheeled vehicle had been conveyed by the Regent of Tanah Datar Eka Putra after the assessment phase carried out on the access road to Lembah Anai on Monday, December 15, to test the readiness of infrastructure and safety in the field for drivers.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Padang Panjang Police, AKBP Kartyana Widyarso Wardoyo Putro, conveyed that people who want to cross the access in the Anai Valley must always obey the rules of the officers.
"Four-wheeled vehicles can pass through the Anai Valley route, including two-wheeled vehicles, with a specified time of 16.00-09.00. This is done because of the weather conditions at night, so that during the day we maximize materials and heavy equipment to work," he said in his statement, Wednesday, December 17.
The Director General of Road Construction of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Roy Rizali Anwar has monitored the progress in the field and the readiness of the plan to open the Anai Valley access road.
"Regarding the plan to open access to the Anai Valley for four-wheeled vehicles, it will be prepared as best as possible and intensively coordinated with related parties," he said.
On Tuesday morning, December 16, Deputy for Coordination of Basic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Coordinating for Infrastructure and Regional Development (Kemenko IPK) Muhammad Rachmat Kaimuddin also visited the emergency handling project of Padang-Bukittinggi Road via Lembah Anai.
During his visit, Rachmat conveyed that HKI should really take into account the handling of rivers considering the flow of water during floods is quite large.
"Engineering for road bodies must also be comprehensive, considering that there is still the potential for river flow to the side of the road body due to its natural flow," he explained.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) Aji Prasetyanti said that his party was deploying all resources on the ground so that the access road in the Anai Valley could be recovered as soon as possible.
"We are committed to providing the best treatment efforts at the Anai Valley access while maintaining the quality of work," he explained.
