Atalia-Ridwan Kamil's Absence from the First Divorce Hearing is Due to Their Duties at the Office and Being Outside the City
BANDUNG - Members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Atalia Praratya and her husband, former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, did not attend the first trial of the divorce lawsuit held at the Bandung City Religious Court today.
Based on ANTARA's monitoring at the location, both were represented by their respective lawyers in the hearing with the mediation agenda.
Atalia Praratya's lawyer, Debi Agusfriansa, said his client was unable to attend because he was on duty.
He said the divorce lawsuit was filed through the e-court system and the first hearing agenda was mediation.
"Today's agenda seems to be mediation," Debi said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 17.
According to him, Atalia hopes that the legal process can run well and provide the best results for both parties.
"The point is to pray for each other, may the best be for Mother and Father," he said.
Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil's lawyer, Wenda Aluwi, said that his client was not present because he was out of town.
"Today we are here as lawyers to follow the mediation agenda. We respect the legal process that is running," said Wenda.
Both lawyers were reluctant to comment on the alleged causes of the divorce lawsuit, including issues circulating in the community.
They stated that they were focused on following the trial process in accordance with applicable regulations.
