Pramono Appoints 7 DKI KPID Members, Discusses Broadcasting Challenges in the Digital Era
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung appointed seven members of the Indonesian Regional Broadcasting Commission (KPID) for the DKI Jakarta Province period 2025-2028. Those who were inaugurated were Ahmad Sulhy, Luli Barlini, Very Opra Ferdinalsyah, Ananda Ismail, Arri Wahyudi Edimar, Didik Suyuthi, and Sona Sofyan Permana.
In his remarks, Pramono emphasized Jakarta's strategic position as a national broadcasting reference center. According to him, what is broadcast from Jakarta is not only consumed by residents of the capital, but also helps shape public perceptions at the national and international levels.
Pramono said that the rapid change in the media landscape was a serious challenge for the broadcasting world. The convergence of conventional media with digital platforms, coupled with the prevalence of hoaxes and disinformation, demands an adaptive and consistent oversight role.
"We are in a media landscape that is changing very quickly. The convergence between conventional broadcasting and digital platforms, accompanied by the prevalence of hoaxes and disinformation, is a serious challenge that must be faced together and sustainably," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, December 17.
He emphasized that the KPID plays an important role as a balancer, as well as a guardian of broadcasting ethics to remain on the side of public interests, especially in protecting the younger generation.
"KPID is required to remain adaptive and responsive to the development of broadcasting policies. To be a counterweight, to maintain a healthy ethical broadcast space, and to side with the public interest," said Pramono.
Pramono also stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government was committed to supporting the strengthening of the broadcasting ecosystem without interfering with the independence of the KPID. He hopes that the collaboration that has been built can encourage the birth of informative and educational broadcasts.
"I really hope that this trust can be carried out with full responsibility and integrity," said Pramono.
After the inauguration, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KPID, Ahmad Sulhy, highlighted the importance of balance in broadcasting, especially in maintaining local cultural values. He hopes that all broadcasting institutions, both television and radio, will provide adequate space for Betawi cultural content in accordance with applicable regulations.
