"Physically, the Vice President's Office will be completed by the end of December 2025," said Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono when met in Sepaku, Antara, Wednesday, December 17.

Basuki said that after the physical construction was completed, the next step was to fill the furniture or office furniture of the Vice President. This stage is the final part before the building is ready to be used.

He explained that overall, the progress of the first phase of the IKN development period 2022-2025, which is located in part of the North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, has reached 97 percent.

According to Basuki, the construction of basic infrastructure and a number of major buildings in the first phase, such as mosques, the Vice President's Office, schools, and markets, is currently in the final stage of construction.

"Until the end of 2025, everything is targeted to be completed, because what is left is only the mosque and the Vice President's Office. Life support facilities such as schools and markets are also ensured to be completed by December," he said.

The completion of the first phase of construction, continued Basuki, marked the readiness of the IKN infrastructure to enter the second phase of construction as well as supporting the plan to relocate the country's administrative center to the Political Capital in 2028.

"With the completion of the first phase of construction by the end of this year, IKN is ready to enter a new phase of more complex and strategic development," he said.
