Terduga Pembunuhan Ayah, Anak Rob Reiner Terancam Penjara Seumur Hidup

JAKARTA - The son of late director Rob Reiner was charged as the perpetrator in the murder case of his father and mother. The Los Angeles district attorney revealed that Nick Reiner will be charged with two counts of murdering his parents.

Citing Deadline, if he is found guilty, then Nick Reiner could get a prison sentence without parole. Not only that, he is likely to face the death penalty.

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead with stab wounds on Sunday, December 14 at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Nick Reiner was arrested later that night and is being held in Los Angeles.

The death of the two parents was found by their other children. Nick himself had been living with his parents for several weeks before this incident.

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell acknowledged today that officers called to the residence around 3:30 p.m. local time on Sunday had not had a definitive time of death until now.

District Attorney Hochman announced the charges against Nick Reiner at a news conference in downtown Los Angeles surrounded by the LAPD Chief and members of the District Attorney's office.

"Do I expect the process to be very quick? No. I expect the process to be quite thorough," said Nathan Hochman of the police.

Tuesday, December 16, Nick Reiner appointed a lawyer, Alan Jackson who discussed their next steps. Nick was not present in the hearing because he had not undergone a medical examination.

Nick Reiner is also said to have struggled with drug addiction for years. This became an inspiration in making the film Being Charlie with Rob Reiner.
