BPS Office Development in IKN Starts January 2026

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that the construction of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) office in IKN will begin in January 2026.

Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono said that later BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti would lay the first stone or groundbreaking for the construction of the BPS office.

"Later in January, the Head of BPS will lay the first stone for the construction of the BPS office and also start the BPS implementation unit at IKN," said Basuki at the Dissemination of Results and Presentation of Publication Documents for the Capital City of Nusantara (PPIKN) 2025 at the BPS office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 16.

Basuki explained that the Deputy Head of BPS, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, would visit IKN to check the land ownership that would later become the location of the BPS office construction.

According to Basuki, his party has marked the location of the land intersection that is suitable as the location for the construction of the BPS office, but there is still a possibility of change.

"The Deputy Chairman of the BPS will check the BPS land ownership there. First come, first in. So in the capital, it has been marked by Mrs. Mia (Deputy for Planning and Land Affairs of the OIKN), but it can still shift. Maybe (the office) Bappenas is removed, replaced by BPS. If the mother (Head of BPS) is brave where it is wider," he said.

Therefore, while joking, Basuki said, civil servants (CPNS) candidates who are reluctant to move to IKN and prefer to stay in the boarding house around Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, are stupid people.

"We just told the Head of BPS (Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti). Later, if you go there (IKN) in January, bring that CPNS. So that he can see. If there is a CPNS who does not want to move to IKN, it is stupid, stupid," joked Basuki, greeted with laughter from a number of attendees.

According to Basuki, IKN is a city with modern facilities that are built for the younger generation, not for old ASN-ASN like him. Therefore, he then asked that the CPNS under the auspices of BPS could willingly move to IKN, along with the existence of the BPS Implementation Unit in the New Capital.

"So, be ready later there will be supervisors with several staff stationed at IKN," he added.
