Head of the CPNS Authority Says Ogah Moving to IKN is Stupid, Here's the Reason
JAKARTA - Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said that the facilities at IKN are now very complete. This is because the government has built a multi-apartment (rusun) with various interesting facilities like apartments.
"I'm afraid, if I say an apartment, I'll be considered a civil servant who is arrogant, right. But, it's clear that it's not an apartment. So, the water (in the apartment) is tap water, (can) be drunk hot and cold. There are 3 rooms, AC, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, two bathrooms, with an area of 98 square meters," said Basuki in the Dissemination of Results and Presentation of Publication Documents of the Capital City of Nusantara (PPIKN) 2025 at the BPS office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 16.
Therefore, while joking, Basuki said, civil servants (CPNS) candidates who are reluctant to move to IKN and prefer to stay in the boarding house around Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, are stupid people.
"We just told the Head of BPS (Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti). Later, if you go there (IKN) in January, bring that CPNS. So that he can see. If there is a CPNS who does not want to move to IKN, it is stupid, stupid," joked Basuki, greeted with laughter from a number of attendees.
According to Basuki, IKN is a city with modern facilities that are built for the younger generation, not for old ASN-ASN like him. Therefore, he then asked that the CPNS under the auspices of BPS could be willing to move to IKN, along with the existence of the BPS Implementation Unit in the New Capital.
On the other hand, through the dissemination of the results of the 2025 Capital City Population Census (PPIKN), the former Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) hopes that it can formulate the right policies to build IKN as an inclusive city.
"The indicators that we have made in this data collection will continue to move rapidly with the development and development of IKN. And these indicators will be very necessary in subsequent and periodic surveys such as agricultural censuses, economic censuses, and other routine censuses by BPS," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that the number of residents in IKN, East Kalimantan, reached 147,427 people at present.
Amalia said that the number was obtained from the results of the first population census conducted by 856 BPS officers in the IKN delineation area several months ago.
"Based on the results of the 2025 Capital City Population (PPIKN) Data Collection, the IKN population is recorded as 147,427 people or 43,293 households," he said.
He explained that the highest concentration of residents was in four villages, namely Samboja Kuala Village (Samboja District), Muara Jawa Village (Muara Jawa District), Muara Jawa Coastal Village (Muara Jawa District) and Telemow Village (Sepaku District).
"With a density of more than 400 people per square kilometer, the area is the center of population activity. Thus, it can become a priority in providing basic services and infrastructure for the future of the Capital of Nusantara," he said.
Then, if viewed from the population of generations, the majority is inhabited by Generation Z which reaches 27.20 percent of the total population.
"This composition shows that IKN has the potential for a large productive population to support the development of a new modern and dynamic city," he explained.
