Prosecutor Searches Ponorogo Social Affairs Office to Investigate Social Assistance Corruption
Ponorogo - The Ponorogo District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in East Java raided the Ponorogo Regency Social Service office and seized a number of documents suspected of being related to the social assistance (bansos) corruption case.
The search, which lasted almost two hours, was carried out as a follow-up to the increase in the status of the case from investigation to investigation.
The investigation team targeted a number of rooms, including the poor and social empowerment and social protection and social security fields.
"There are several rooms that we searched. This is part of the collection of additional evidence after our case was upgraded to the investigation stage," said Head of the Ponorogo District Attorney's Intelligence Section, Agung Riyadi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 16.
As a result, from the search, investigators brought several documents that were suspected to be evidence of the alleged corruption in social assistance.
He said that the alleged corruption in social assistance occurred in the period 2023 to 2024.
However, the amount of state losses is still being investigated by investigators.
"This matter occurred in the period 2023-2024. For the value of state losses, we are still investigating," he said.
In addition to confiscating documents, investigators have also summoned a number of witnesses for questioning.
Until now, at least four people have been examined, all of whom are from the Ponorogo Social Service environment.
"There are already several witnesses that we have called. For their status and identity, we cannot say," said Agung.
The search was led directly by the Head of the Ponorogo District Attorney's Office, Zulmar Adhy Surya, as part of law enforcement efforts and the disclosure of alleged irregularities in the management of social assistance in the area.
