BGN Tightens SOP After Incident at SDN 01 Cilincing Jakut
JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has tightened the standard operating procedures (SOP) after an incident where a Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) partner car carrying Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) crashed into a number of students and teachers at SDN Kalibaru 01, Cilincing, North Jakarta.
Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana said his party continued to monitor the condition of the victims, coordinating with hospitals, and ensuring that medical treatment was optimal. Evaluation of all SPPG operations is also being carried out.
According to Dadan, the MBG service at the school has been running smoothly since March 24, 2025. However, the last two days the regular driver was sick so he was replaced by a backup driver.
"After we checked, thank God the driver has a driver's license (SIM), but he may be inexperienced. We are still investigating the cause," Dadan said in a statement received, Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Dadan explained the latest developments in handling the victims. A total of 11 students have been sent home.
"Then there are four who are being treated at Cilincing Hospital, and there are seven people being treated at Koja Hospital, including one teacher. Two of them must be treated intensively," explained Dadan.

As a preventive measure, the SOP for BGN vehicles has been tightened again, including the procedure for selecting backup drivers.
"Yes of course, because until now we have done it, even in the technical instructions we have written that the car before being used for delivery must be checked every time. With the case of replacing the driver, this is a new input for BGN and the head of SPPG to carefully replace or choose a backup driver with the same qualifications," said Dadan.
BGN also coordinates with the school regarding the continuation of MBG services, including ensuring that students receive trauma recovery assistance.
"Because this is very related to the trauma that has occurred, don't let us force it and our children have trauma," said Dadan.
Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of BGN, Khairul Hidayati, emphasized his agency's commitment to conducting a thorough and open evaluation.
"BGN also mourns this incident and ensures that all victims receive the best treatment. We are also conducting an internal investigation with the police to ensure that this type of incident does not recur," said Hida.
Hida added that communication with the victim's family would be open and ongoing.
"We are committed to improving all aspects related to SOP, including the mechanism for replacing drivers and checking vehicles, as well as ensuring that the safety standards of MBG services are implemented to the maximum," said Hida.
The government is committed to continue improving the standard of MBG services so that they are more effective in encouraging healthy, smart, and productive young people. Through strengthening coordination with schools and hospitals, the MBG program is expected not only to be able to meet children's daily nutritional needs, but also to create a sustainable healthy living culture in the community.
