Attorney General's Office Investigates Sampang Regent Regarding Alleged BLUD Corruption

SAMPANG - The Sampang Regency District Attorney's Office, East Java, examined the Sampang Regent Slamet Junaidi regarding the alleged corruption case of financial abuse at the Regional Service Company (BLUD) of the Dr. Mohammad Zyn Hospital, Sampang.

"In addition to the regent, we also called for the examination of the Regional Secretary of Sampang Regency, Yuliadi Setiawan," said the Head of the Sampang District Attorney's Office, Fadhilah Helmidilansir ANTARA, Tuesday, December 16.

Regent Slamet Junaidi came to the Sampang District Attorney's Office at around 14.04 WIB and underwent an examination for about three hours.

According to Fadhilah, the examination of the number one person in the Sampang Regency Government was related to the alleged criminal act of corruption in the misuse of Regional Business Service Agency (BLUD) finances at the Dr. Mohammad Zyn Sampang Hospital.

"So, he was examined as a witness and also a reporter related to the investigation of the financial case of BLUD RSUD Sampang," he said.

He explained that investigators had examined as many as 22 witnesses in handling the case of the alleged corruption in the BLUD financial case. The witnesses are directly related to the financial irregularities of BLUD from 2023 to 2025.

Meanwhile, Sampang Regent Slamet Junaidi said that his arrival was to be examined by investigators for the BLUD RSUD Sampang financial case report. The report was submitted to the prosecutor five months ago.

"I am a witness and reporter. All of this is based on the findings of the Sampang Inspectorate, the indication of tax or financial embezzlement of BLUD was carried out by someone with the initials W," said Haji Idi, a close friend of the Regent of Sampang.

Iabercerita during the examination process, he actually asked the investigators about the development of the report.

"The investigators asked me, what did you do after this case was reported, instead I asked back, what was the investigation like and has it been going on," said the regent.

"I remain consistent about the report and nothing else. I hope that as soon as possible the investigators will determine the suspects so as not to interfere with the public's bad opinion," he said.

The value of the alleged corruption in the misuse of finances at the Sampang Hospital, which was reported to the District Attorney's Office, was around Rp. 3.3 billion based on the results of the Sampang Inspectorate audit.
