Sempat Amblas, Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Can Be Used by Vehicles

JAKARTA - The Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (MKTT) which had collapsed some time ago can now be crossed starting today.

Citing information shared by the official @official_jmktt Instagram account, Tuesday, December 16, PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol (JKT) informed that the traffic engineering of the MKTT Toll had officially ended.

"Starting Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 07.00 WIB, all lanes have been reopened and can be crossed normally for all vehicle categories," wrote the account.

The Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (MKTT) at KM 41+600 has been operating normally in both directions starting today, Tuesday, December 16, at 07.00 WIB.

The normal operation of traffic (lalin) directions Medan and Tebing Tinggi/Kualanamu also indicates the termination of the contraflow traffic engineering which was temporarily enforced from KM 41+800 to KM 39+300 during the recovery period of the toll road body at KM 41+600 towards Medan.

"PT JKT expresses its appreciation and thanks to all road users for their patience and cooperation during the work process," he explained.

In addition, PT JKT also thanked the police and all stakeholders who have supported the smooth arrangement of traffic on the ground.

"Jasa Marga appeals to all road users to continue to comply with traffic signs, follow the instructions of officers in the field and always ensure the condition of vehicles and driving readiness for the sake of safety together," he added.

Previously, one of the points of the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (MKTT) was precisely at KM 41+600 B in the Deli Serdang Regency area, North Sumatra.

The collapse of one of the toll road points was caused by heavy rain that hit the Deli Serdang area, thus increasing the flow of Sei Batu Gingging water and eroding the foundation of the road embankment.

Responding to the incident, Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo asked the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) or the operator, in this case PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Toll, to temporarily close the affected lane.

"As an emergency measure, the PU Ministry has asked BUJT to immediately take quick action, including temporarily closing the affected lanes, securing the location, inspecting the bridge structure, arranging water flow and mobilizing heavy equipment," said Dody, quoted Saturday, November 29.

Dody said that his party continued to coordinate through the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Toll and the National Police to ensure that traffic flows remain under control during handling.

Based on coordination in the field, traffic engineering is needed which will start on Friday, November 28, 2025 until it is declared safe.

Traffic engineering is carried out by closing the Medan direction lane at KM 43 B and diverting traffic out through the Paluh Kemiri and Kualanamu Toll Gates.

Then, the closure of the Tebing Tinggi direction lane at KM 6 A and the diversion of outgoing traffic through the Lubuk Pakam Toll Gate.

Security personnel have been deployed on the ground, including Team 203, MCSS 210, MCS 212, rescue elements, and PJR 40 units.

"We appeal to the public to follow the instructions of officers in the field and pay attention to the alternative routes that have been prepared," he said.
