BNPB: Damaged Houses Due to Disaster in Aceh Reach 106,058 UNITS

BANDA ACEH - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said that the total number of houses damaged by floods and landslides in Aceh Province reached 106,058 units.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Data Center, Abdul Muhari, said that the damage to the house was spread across 18 disaster-affected districts and cities in Aceh Province.

"Based on data as of Tuesday (16/12), the number of damaged units due to disasters in Aceh reached 106,058 units. The damage consists of severe, moderate, and minor," said Abdul Muhari as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 16.

Abdul Muhari detailed the damage consisted of 46,779 units of lightly damaged houses, 22,951 units of moderately damaged houses, and 36,328 units of severely damaged conditions.

According to him, the data on the damage to the house became the basis for the preparation and planning of housing development for victims of flash flood and landslides in Aceh Province.

"The construction of housing later, both those relocated and those who remain at the original location. Those in the initial location are especially for lightly damaged houses," said Abdul Muhari.

As for relocation, Abdul Muhari said it was intended for houses that were severely damaged or lost due to the disaster at the end of November 2025. The relocation point was discussed with the local government and must be far from potential disasters.

"Meanwhile, the house was slightly damaged, built with the best possible area and avoiding the potential for similar disasters. Including mitigation aspects, both building structures and others," he said.

Regarding the number of deaths in the disaster in Aceh Province, Abdul Muhari said that the total as of Tuesday (16/12) reached 449 people. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, there were 360 people, and West Sumatra reached 244 people.

"For today, there is an addition of 23 people who died. So the total number of deaths is 1,053 people, from Aceh there are 18 people and North Sumatra five people," he said.

Regarding refugees as a whole, said Abdul Muhari, it reached 606,040 people, consisting of 571,201 people in Aceh, North Sumatra reached 21,579 people, and West Sumatra 13,260 people.

"We are also continuing to work to accelerate the establishment of an integrated evacuation point. This integrated evacuation is to facilitate the distribution of logistics distribution, both food and non-food," said Abdul Muhari.
