Besides Nadiem Makarim, These are the 24 Parties Named by the Prosecutor to Receive Chromebook Corruption Money
JAKARTA - Public prosecutor (JPU) from the Attorney General's Office Roy Riady revealed that there were 25 parties who were enriched in relation to the alleged corruption case in the education digitization program in the form of the procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome Device Management (CDM) at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2019-2022.
This was revealed during the trial of reading the indictment against the three defendants in the case, namely Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam, Sri Wahyuningsih, and Mulyatsyah.
"The defendants committed acts against the law by enriching themselves, others, or a corporation to the detriment of state finances worth Rp. 2.18 trillion," said the prosecutor in the reading of the indictment at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, December 16, reported by ANTARA.
The JPU detailed as many as 25 parties, namely the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for the period 2019-2024 Nadiem Anwar Makarim worth Rp809.59 billion and the Director of the Elementary School (SMP) at the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture 2020-2021 Mulyatsyah 120 thousand Singapore dollars and 150 thousand US dollars (USD).
Then, Harnowo Susanto Rp300 million; Dhany Hamiddan Khoir Rp200 million and 30 thousand US dollars; Purwadi Susanto and Suhartono Arham each 7 thousand US dollars; Wahyu Arhadi Rp35 million; Nia Nurhasanah Rp500 million; Hamid Muhammad Rp75 million; Jumeri Rp100 million; Susanto Rp50 million; Muhammad Hasbi Rp250 million; and Mariana Susy Rp5.15 billion.
In addition to individuals, there are also several enriched corporations, namely PT Supertone (SPC) of IDR 44.96 billion; PT Asus Technology Indonesia (ASUS) IDR 819.26 million; PT Tera Data Indonesia (AXIOO) IDR 177.41 billion; PT Lenovo Indonesia (Lenovo) IDR 19.18 billion; PT Zyrexindo Mandiri Buana (Zyrexx) IDR 41.18 billion; and PT Hewlett-Packard Indonesia (Hp) IDR 2.27 billion.
Then, PT Gyra Inti Jaya (Libera) amounted to IDR 101.51 billion; PT Evercoss Technology Indonesia (Evercross) IDR 341.06 million; PT Dell Indonesia (Dell) IDR 112.68 billion; PT Bangga Teknologi Indonesia (Advan) IDR 48.82 billion; PT Acer Indonesia (Acer) IDR 425.24 billion; and PT Bhinneka Mentari Dimensi IDR 281.68 billion.
In this case, the three defendants are suspected of causing state losses of IDR 2.18 trillion, including IDR 1.56 trillion related to the education digitization program at the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the equivalent of US$ 44.05 million or IDR 621.39 billion due to the procurement of CDM that is not necessary and not useful in the education digitization program.
It is stated that the three defendants committed this illegal act together with Nadiem and former Special Staff for the Minister of Education and Culture Jurist Tan.
The illegal acts committed by the defendants, among others, carried out the procurement of learning facilities based on information and communication technology with Chromebook laptops and CDM in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 fiscal years which were not in accordance with the procurement planning and various procurement principles.
For their actions, the three defendants are threatened with criminal penalties as stipulated in Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, the indictment against Nadiem will only be read on Tuesday (23/7) because the hearing was postponed due to bail (temporary detention suspension) because the former Minister of Education and Culture was still ill.
