Dee Lestari Sings Again, Triggered by Emotional Moments in Life Phase

JAKARTA - Dewi 'Dee' Lestari greeted her music lovers with a new single. The writer who is also a prolific singer and songwriter is back singing through (Don't) Fall in Love.

Dee's discography track record started when he was still with Rida Sita Dewi (1995-2003), and continued when he started a solo career (through his album Out of Shell, 2006). His work through Rectoverso (2007) is still echoing until now. "Malaikat Juga Tahu" has become a legendary song sung by various singers.

After that, Dee still wrote hits for Indonesia's top singers, including: Marcell, Raisa, Ariel Noah, Andien, Titi DJ, etc. Through the Rapijali Book Soundtrack (2021), Dee also collaborated with big names including Iwan Fals, Bunga Citra Lestari, Mawar Eva, Adikara, Mikha Angelo, and Barsena Bestandhi.

However, Dee's image as a book writer is so strong, it seems to drown out his existence as a singer. As a solo singer, for 17 years Dee has never released an album in its entirety.

Dee's literacy work has indeed left a mark on many people. Until in 2024, Dee's father passed away, leaving a deep loss. At one moment when he was alone at home, Dee decided to entertain himself by singing.

English:

He set up a "karaoke" using a laptop and speakers that were in his house. He started singing. Immediately Dee felt the difference. His heart felt alive again. He also sang, almost every night for weeks.

Not only did the "ritual" help him recover from grief, Dee also fell in love with singing again. His determination was also firm. He wanted to embrace the world of singing again. Back to work in the form of a music album.

The intention was realized in 2025. Assisted by the management team - Arie Dagienkz, Riko Prayitno (Mocca), Bayu Fajri, and Anthono - a new Dee album will be born. Dee's third solo album will be opened by a single titled: "(Don't) Fall in Love".

Dee raises the story of the conflict between logic and heart in his single this time, about how logic - which wants to protect the heart from being hurt - tries to control feelings. Meanwhile, the heart always speaks of honesty. Feelings can't be steered. Because, who are we in the face of love? In the end, falling in love will happen even though it's not always expected. Even though it doesn't always happen in ideal conditions.

"(Don't) Fall in Love" collaborates with arranger Rendy Pandugo, with vocal director Teddy Adhitya. With the arrangement of the music and the choice of musical instruments that are all warm, rich by the layers of the guitar, and also the hypnotic vocal harmonies, "(Don't) Fall in Love" will pamper the ears as well as caress the hearts of Indonesian music listeners.

Some time ago, Dee showed some "leaks" of his new songs in a showcase titled Bocor Tipis, which was held in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. "(Don't) Fall in Love" was also heard and received a positive response. Dee hopes that his new single will be a fresh opener for his return to the music world as an experienced singer-songwriter whose new works have been missed by many listeners.

"(Don't) Fall in Love" was released simultaneously on various streaming platforms on December 16, 2025, and became a sweet closing gift for music lovers.
