Esok Tanpa Ibu Film Portraits the Confusion of Parents and Children in the Digital Era

JAKARTA - The film "Tomorrow Without Mother" not only presents drama and technology, but also a deep reflection on the relationship between parents and children in modern times. This film tries to portray the awkwardness that often occurs due to the presence of technology and social media.

The screenwriter, Gina S. Noer, revealed that this story idea came from her distress as a mother. She felt a loss of confidence when her child entered adolescence and was more familiar with gadgets.

"The child suddenly has a very close relationship with the gadget, then falls in love," said Gina in South Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

He imagined how much more complicated it would be to be a parent in the future. A different perspective comes from his co-author, Diva. As a child, he felt a distance from his parents who often advised in conventional ways.

"I think we should be like we've started to create the world using our own point of view," said Diva.

Actor Ali Fikri, who plays the son, also feels the relevance of this story. His character, Cimot, is very close to his mother but awkward to communicate with his father.

Dian Sastrowardoyo, who plays the role of Mother, also feels the same in real life. He likened approaching teenagers to approaching people who don't really like us.

"So we like WA, we don't reply, thank God we check two," he joked.

Ringgo Agus Rahman, who plays Bapak, also admits that there is a communication gap between father and son. He feels that women or mothers are often "glue" in the family.
