Directorate General of Immigration Arrests 220 Foreign Nationals Violating Residence Permits
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Correction in the period 10-12 December 2025 arrested 220 foreign nationals for allegedly violating immigration rules in Indonesia.
"The details of the violations committed were dominated by the abuse of residence permits by 92 people, followed by 32 people, while other violations (34 people)," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman at the Immigration Directorate General's office, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 16.
A total of 220 people were caught in the Wirawaspada Operation which took place on December 10-12, 2025. In the Wirawaspada Operation, 2,298 surveillance activities were recorded.
Of the total 220 foreign nationals secured in the simultaneous operation, the top five nationalities with the most violations were China with 114 people, Nigeria 16 people, India 14 people, South Korea 11 people, and Pakistan 8 people.
In addition, the Directorate General of Immigration has carried out the Operation Bhumipura Sakti Wirawasti Pertambangandengan supervision in three main locations. First, at PT IMIP, immigration checks were carried out on 14,128 foreigners.
Immigration supervision is carried out strictly at the Fatufia Jetty Port and PT IMIP Special Airport. Inspections at both locations have gone through standard operating procedures (SOP) with other agencies, such as Quarantine and Customs.
Data on ship transits at the Fatufia Jetty recorded 142 ships in September with 2,785 foreign crew, 136 ships in October with 2,715 foreign crew, and 130 ships in November with 2,445 foreign crew.
As a follow-up, Immigration has summoned every tenant, contractor, and foreigner who violated immigration regulations in the PT IMIP area for further examination at the Directorate General of Immigration.
Supervision is also carried out at PT IWIP for 26,650 foreign nationals. Immigration checks are carried out at the Weda Bay Port Special Port and the PT IWIP Special Airport, both of which have also implemented SOPs involving Quarantine and Customs.
At the Weda Bay Port Special Port, 32 ships with 588 foreign crew members were recorded as passing through the period from November to December.
Likewise with PT IMIP, the Directorate General of Immigration has summoned paratenant and contractors, as well as foreigners who violated the PT IWIP area for further examination at the Directorate General of Immigration.
Next, in the area of a company in Bangka Belitung, a massive activity of sand suction vessels (KIP) in the waters of Rambak Beach was found involving a number of foreign nationals, mainly Thai foreign nationals as crew members (ABK).
A total of 32 business entities that are partners of the company are recorded to have a total of around 37 ships and 202 foreigners who are active in them.
In addition, foreign people who are guaranteed by several company partners (such as PT IMP, PT AI, and PT PSS) were also found and are suspected of playing an active role in the production of tin ingots at PT MGR, with a focus on the technical aspects of machine operation.
As a follow-up, the Directorate General of Immigration has summoned PT MGR, PT IMP, and PT PSS to be questioned regarding the presence of foreigners who are engaged in activities that do not comply with the residence permit used.
"We are committed to taking firm action against any immigration violations in order to maintain sovereignty and order in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. Further enforcement and inspection efforts will continue to be carried out in accordance with laws and regulations," said Yuldi.
