"The money received by Nadiem comes from PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (PT AKAB) through PT Gojek Indonesia," said the JPU in the reading of the indictment at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Tuesday.

The JPU revealed that most of PT AKAB's money came from Google's investment of US$786.99 million.

It is stated that the three defendants committed this illegal act together with Nadiem and former Special Staff for the Minister of Education and Culture Jurist Tan.

The illegal acts committed by the defendants, among others, were the procurement of learning facilities based on information and communication technology with Chromebook laptops and CDM in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 fiscal years, which were not in accordance with the procurement plan and various procurement principles.

In addition, the defendants, together with Nadiem and Jurist, are also suspected of procuring Chromebook laptops at the Ministry of Education and Culture through e-Catalogs and the School Procurement Information System (SIPLah) application in 2020, 2021, and 2022 without going through the evaluation of the price of the Chromebook laptop procurement and not supported by price references.

For their actions, the three defendants are threatened with criminal penalties as stipulated in Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo.
