Netanyahu-Trump Compact Praises Syrian-Origin Ahmed Muslim, Hero of Bondi Gunfighter
JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the actions of civilians who intervened to seize weapons from one of the attackers. The hero, Ahmed Al-Ahmed (43), a Muslim Australian of Syrian descent is now undergoing treatment at the hospital
"We saw the actions of a brave man - a brave Muslim man, apparently, and I salute him - who stopped one of these terrorists from killing innocent Jews," he said, quoted by abcnet.au, Tuesday, December 16.
"But this requires action from your government, which you are not doing and you have to do it because history will not forgive doubts and weaknesses. History will appreciate action and strength," Netanyahu said, harshly criticizing Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
"That is what Israel expects from every government of yours in the West and elsewhere. Because this disease is spreading and will destroy you too," he continued.
The same praise was given by US President Donald Trump. Ahmed is said to be very brave to save many people.
"In Australia, you may have read, there was a very, very brave person who went and attacked one of the shooters directly and saved many lives," Trump said in Washington DC.

"A very brave man, who is currently in hospital with quite serious injuries. So, great respect to the man who did that."
"To Australia, the prime minister, to all the people we know well, who we get along well with, we have a great relationship. It's a terrible situation that's happening there," Trump continued.
