Purbaya ensures that the tax tape project remains at Peruri, strengthened by security technology

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa ensures that the printing of the national tax tape is still being carried out by Perum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (Peruri).

The government emphasized that there was no transfer of the strategic project to another party, although technological cooperation would be carried out to improve the security system.

Purbaya said that Peruri remained the main executor of printing excise tape because it had submitted an official proposal to the government. However, as the need for strengthening state revenue supervision increases, the printing system will be equipped with more advanced coding technology.

"The tax tape is still at Peruri, only in cooperation with one company for technology strengthening. The coding will be more sophisticated," said Purbaya at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

He assessed that this technological improvement is important to suppress the circulation of illegal tax bands and maintain the optimization of state revenue from the tax sector, which has been one of the significant contributors to the State Budget (APBN).

Purbaya also said that the tender mechanism would remain open if needed in the procurement process. However, the involvement of Peruri as a strategic SOE is ensured to remain part of the scheme.

English:

"If it needs to be tendered, Peruri will still be involved," he said.
