Using Mirip TNI Attributes, the Perpetrator of Curanmor was Arrested in Gilimanuk
Gilimanuk - The Gilimanuk Port Area Police, Jembrana Regency, Bali, thwarted an attempt by a motorcycle theft syndicate (curanmor) to escape across the region.
Three suspected perpetrators were arrested while trying to cross to Java Island through the Gilimanuk Port, Bali, on Tuesday (16/12) early morning.
The three suspected perpetrators, with initials A, M, and N. They are suspected of using the disguise modus by wearing field service uniforms (PDL) resembling TNI attributes to deceive officers during inspections in the port area.
"We moved quickly after receiving information from the Badung Police. All personnel were immediately deployed at checkpoints to prevent the perpetrators from escaping through the crossing," said Gilimanuk Port Area Police Chief Kompol Arya Agung Arjana Putra, Tuesday, December 16.
The perpetrators were arrested in the VIP parking area of the Gilimanuk Port ASDP. From the hands of the suspected perpetrators, officers also secured three units of motorcycles which were suspected to be the result of a crime of theft in the jurisdiction of the Badung Police, Bali.
The three perpetrators were arrested starting from information received by the Gilimanuk Port Area Police from the Badung Police, Bali, on Monday (15/12 evening, regarding the alleged perpetrators of curanmor who would flee through the Gilimanuk-Ketapang crossing.
Following up on this information, the Gilimanuk Port Police increased vigilance and carried out strict surveillance at a number of checkpoints.
When the three suspected perpetrators were about to enter the ASDP VIP area, officers found suspicious movements. The personnel of the Gilimanuk Port Area Police, led directly by the Police Chief, with the support of TNI AL personnel and ASDP security personnel, moved quickly to carry out the inspection.
"And managed to secure the three of them without resistance," he added.
The evidence seized was one unit of a Honda CRF motorcycle, one unit of a Honda Beat Street, and one unit of a Honda Scoopy which was suspected to be the result of a crime. Furthermore, the three suspected perpetrators and the evidence were handed over to the Badung Police Criminal Investigation Unit for further legal proceedings.
Head of Public Relations of Jembrana Police, Ipda I Putu Budi Arnaya, emphasized that this disclosure is a tangible manifestation of the readiness of the National Police in maintaining the security of national strategic routes.
"We emphasize that there is no room for perpetrators of crimes to use the port as an escape route. The National Police is present and vigilant in maintaining public security, especially in border areas and vital routes. We also appeal to the public to immediately report any suspicious activities through the National Police emergency service 110 which is active 24 hours a day," he said.
