AMPI Galang Donasi Rp250 Juta Untuk Korban Bencana Aceh dan Sumatera

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Reform Youth (AMPI) is raising donations as a form of solidarity and humanitarian action for victims of floods and landslides in the Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra provinces.

The assistance from 38 AMPI Regional Leadership Councils (DPD) throughout Indonesia and 14 Foreign Leadership Councils (DPLN) in five continents around the world through online and offline was successfully collected Rp. 250 million.

AMPI DPP Chairman Jerry Sambuaga said this assistance was given to ease the burden of people affected and victims of disasters. Especially AMPI managers, cadres and sympathizers in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.

"The assistance collected by the DPP AMPI is obtained from donations from all 38 DPDs throughout Indonesia and 14 DPLN amounting to Rp. 250 million. We will hand over this donation directly to AMPI Aceh, AMPI North Sumatra, and AMPI West Sumatra. Hopefully this assistance can relieve the burden and be useful for our brothers and sisters in the disaster location," said Jerry in his statement, Tuesday, December 16.

Jerry revealed that AMPI had collected donations for seven days from the participation of all AMPI DPP, DPD, and DPLN managers.

"With this donation drive, AMPI hopes that the donation will be useful to relieve the burden of our brothers and sisters who are affected by disasters. AMPI also invites all Indonesian people to continue to pray for the condition of the affected areas and communities to recover soon," he said.

Accompanied by Secretary General of the DPP AMPI Robi Anugrah Marpaung, General Treasurer of the DPP AMPI Kevin Tandra, Deputy Chairman of the DPP AMPI Gaya Kartasasmita, Deputy Chairman of the DPP AMPI Steven Risakotta, and Chairman of the AMPI Rescue Corp (ARC) Gary Haley and all the DPP AMPI managers, Jerry expressed his gratitude to all the DPP, DPD and DPLN managers who have provided assistance.

"I would like to express my gratitude for the assistance provided by all the DPP, DPD and DPLN managers through their leaders. This is a form of concern and solidarity from all AMPI cadres to help each other and strengthen our brothers and sisters who are affected by disasters. Our prayers from AMPI for the community and our brothers and sisters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and South Sumatra," said Jerry.
