US Military Attacks a Ship Allegedly Carrying Drugs, in the Pacific Ocean, 8 Dead
JAKARTA - The US military attacked three ships suspected of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean. The attack killed eight people
The attack targeted "designated terrorist organizations," killing three people on the first boat, two on the second boat, and three on the third boat.
The militia did not provide evidence of the alleged drug trade, but posted a video of a boat moving in the water before it exploded.
US President Donald Trump justified the attack as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the United States and asserted that the US was engaged in an "armed conflict" with drug cartels.

However, the Trump administration is facing increased scrutiny from lawmakers over the ship-ramming operation, which has killed 95 people in 25 known attacks since early September, including a follow-up attack that killed two survivors clinging to the ship's wreckage after the first attack.
The latest attack on a ship comes ahead of briefings on Capitol Hill to all members of Congress, amid growing questions about the Trump administration's military operations.
