Moved to Jakarta, Ammar Zoni Occupies Room with Strict Security

JAKARTA - Actor Ammar Zoni finally arrived in Jakarta after traveling from the Karanganyar Maximum Security Prison, Nusakambangan. This temporary transfer was carried out to facilitate the process of the trial he will face soon.

Public Relations of the Directorate General of Prisons, Rika Aprianti, confirmed that Ammar Zoni and four other inmates arrived at the Jakarta Narcotics Prison (Cipinang) on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

"Yesterday, Saturday, around 18.00 Western Indonesian Time, arrived at the Jakarta Narcotics Prison," he said in Central Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

Upon arrival in Jakarta, Ammar Zoni was not immediately combined with other residents. He immediately underwent a series of administrative procedures and health examinations.

After all procedures were completed, he and his four colleagues were placed in an isolated area.

"Placed in a room or special placement," explained Rika.

The room called "Patsus" or Special Placement is inhabited by the five of them. This area has a special security level, separate from the usual residential block.

"There were five of them there and with special security as well," he added.

This placement is in accordance with their status as high-risk category prisoners. One of the standard procedures for high-risk prisoners is the use of blindfolds during transfers.

"Yes, there is a SOP because it is included in the high-risk category," said Rika.

Although now closer to his family, Ammar Zoni still has to submit to strict rules while being placed in the Jakarta Narcotics Prison. The Directorate General of Prisons confirmed that not everyone can meet him.

Rika Aprianti explained that the rules for communication and visits for high-risk category prisoners such as Ammar Zoni are very limited.

"Communication is once again limited to only the core family," he said.

The core family referred to is also very specific. They are the wife, biological children, and biological parents (father and mother).

In addition, siblings such as brothers and sisters are still allowed to communicate or visit.

"The policy is biological parents, biological brothers, and biological sisters. Beyond that it can't. So if someone complains like what, the rules are like that," he said.
