Today's Weather Forecast, BMKG Warns Heavy Rain in 10 Regions

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) urges the public to increase vigilance against the potential for rain with various intensities that are predicted to occur in a number of major cities in Indonesia on Tuesday, December 16. BMKG Praktirawan, Adelia, said there were a number of areas that needed to increase their readiness because they had the potential to experience heavy to very heavy rain.

For the Sumatra region, BMKG predicts that light rain is likely to occur in Banda Aceh, Medan, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung. Meanwhile, moderate intensity rain is predicted to fall in Pekanbaru, and rain accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in Tanjung Pinang.

On Java Island, heavy cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Serang and Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, light rain is potentially falling in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya.

Meanwhile, for the Kalimantan region, BMKG predicts cloudy weather in Pontianak. Light rain is potentially occurring in Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin, while rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to hit Tanjung Selor and Samarinda.

In the Bali and Nusa Tenggara region, heavy cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Mataram, light rain in Kupang, and rain accompanied by lightning is potentially occurring in Denpasar.

For the Sulawesi region, BMKG predicts heavy cloudy weather in Gorontalo. Light rain is likely to fall in Manado, Palu, and Makassar, while rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Mamuju and Kendari.
