UMP Immediately Signed by President Prabowo, Announced Tuesday, December 16, the Minister of Home Affairs Reveals a New Scheme
JAKARTA - The Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) will soon be signed by President Prabowo Subianto and will be announced on Tuesday, December 16. This was conveyed by Minister of Manpower Yassierli at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 15.
According to Yassierli, the Draft Government Regulation (RPP) of UMP is already on President Prabowo Subianto's desk waiting for his signature. Yassierli could not confirm who would announce the policy. Yassierli stated that the government would remain consistent in maintaining the welfare of workers.
He touched on the track record of the past year's policies, ranging from a 6.5 percent wage increase, holiday assistance, strengthening May Day commemorations, to discounts on JKK and JKP membership fees. The government has also increased the benefits of the Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) to 60 percent of the salary for six months.
Regarding the substance of UMP, Yassierli revealed that the government would carry out the mandate of the Constitutional Court. One of the points is to activate the role of the Regional Wage Council.
