Police Rules Can Occupy Positions in 17 Ministries or Agencies, National Police Chief: Enter the Police Bill

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed that the police regulation to occupy positions in 17 Ministries/Institutions is certain to be included in the Revision of the National Police Law and government regulations.

In the Police Regulation (Perpol) Number 10 of 2025 concerning Members of the Indonesian National Police who Carry Out Tasks Outside the Structure of the Police Organization, the regulation is already included in it. According to the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit, the Perpol will be upgraded to a Government Regulation and will likely be included in the revision of the Police Law.

This was conveyed by National Police Chief Listyo Sigit to reporters at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 15. The rules contained in Perpol 10/2025 have become the focus of public attention because they are considered not to comply with the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling which stipulates that the police should be in retirement or resign before filling a position outside the Polri organization.

However, the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit explained that the police respected the Constitutional Court's decision with the issuance of the Perpol which regulates active police who can serve in 17 Ministries or Institutions.
