TNI Commander Ensures 162 Starlink Have Been Installed at Disaster Sites
JAKARTA - The TNI Commander, General TNI Agus Subiyanto, said that so far there are 162 starlink satellites that have been installed in disaster locations in North Sumatra, South Sumatra and Aceh.
"Currently, 162 Starlink points have been installed," said the TNI Commander when reporting to President Prabowo at the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 15, reported by ANTARA.
Starlink that was deployed was known to belong to the TNI AD and the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan).
Starlink is distributed in several areas to help people get signals so they can communicate using mobile phones.
Not only for the needs of the victims, the existence of Starlink is also intended for officers in the field so that they can coordinate with the central government in disaster management efforts.
Agus ensured that hundreds of Starlink satellites would continue to be placed there until the communication network in the disaster area recovered.

Previously, the Indonesian Army ensured that the Starlink satellite communication device service facility sent to flood locations in the Sumatra region was free of charge, responding to rumors of alleged illegal collection practices for flood victims who wanted to use the facility.
"For the payment of pulsa, it has been free of charge from the Starlink provider itself until the end of December," said Head of the Information Dispenad Section, Lieutenant Colonel (Arm) Sayed Syahrial, when he was met at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta.
This statement also straightened out the statement of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, who said that the Indonesian National Armed Forces did not know who paid for the Starlink pulse.
"So what the KSAD meant here is that he doesn't know who is taking care of the pulse because it has been free of charge," said Sayed, Friday (5/12).
