MANGMI Pocket Max, Handheld 7 Inch OLED 144Hz Can Be the New King of the Budget Class
JAKARTA - The Android handheld gaming market is getting hotter, and MANGMI seems to want to join the megapixel competition. The manufacturer, known for its cheap AIR X, has just teased its latest device, the MANGMI Pocket Max, with screen specifications that are usually only found in expensive classes.
Pocket Max comes with a high-resolution 7-inch OLED screen and a 144Hz refresh rate. In the world of Android handhelds, this size and panel are still relatively rare. Currently, only a handful of devices such as the AYN Odin 2 Portal, AYANEO Pocket EVO, or Razer Edge offer OLED-class, even with a price tag in the range of 400 to 800 US dollars.
Interestingly, MANGMI does not seem to pursue the most ferocious specifications. Benchmark leaks indicate that Pocket Max will be powered by the Snapdragon 865, an outdated but still relevant chipset. This processor has proven to be able to run emulation up to modern consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, while helping to reduce production costs so that the price remains pocket-friendly.

This approach puts Pocket Max in a strategic middle position. It offers a premium screen for local gaming, unlike other large screen devices such as Logitech G Cloud or Abxylute One Pro which are more dependent on cloud gaming and a fast internet connection.
In terms of design, the teaser video shows the seriousness of MANGMI. Pocket Max is equipped with a full-sized analog stick with an asymmetrical layout, front speakers that face directly at the user, large triggers, a rear button, and an ergonomic grip. In short, this is not a small handheld that compromises most.
However, there is an important note. MANGMI is still a new player and was overwhelmed by the demand for AIR X due to the surge in pre-orders. Even so, delivery delays are not uncommon in the handheld world, even established brands like AYANEO often experience similar things.
The full price and specifications of Pocket Max have not been announced. But if MANGMI manages to repeat its aggressive strategy with a competitive price tag, Pocket Max has the potential to be the most rational choice for gamers who want a big, OLED screen, without having to sell their kidneys. It remains to be seen whether this promise ends sweetly or is just a teaser that makes you drool.
