Airlangga Proposes WFA Scheme During Nataru 2026 in Front of President Prabowo

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has proposed the implementation of a work from anywhere (WFA) scheme during the Christmas and New Year 2026 holidays to President Prabowo Subianto.

According to Airlangga, the WFA policy is considered important to maintain the smoothness of community mobility while encouraging economic growth in the last quarter of this year.

The proposal was greeted positively with applause from ministers and President Prabowo Subianto in the plenary Cabinet Meeting which took place at the State Palace, Monday, December 15.

"We propose because there are dates 29, 30, 31, among them on the holiday, we propose WFA, and everywhere, sir," he said.

He said that the policy aims to increase community movement and consumption during the Christmas and New Year period 2025-2026.

However, Airlangga admitted that the President might still schedule a meeting at Hambalang.

English:

"Because the family does not move if the parents, the father, do not walk. So we propose this. But the work form of Hambalang is also okay, sir," he said.

Airlangga estimated that during the Christmas holiday period, there would be around 104 million people's trips that could potentially stimulate the national economy and the value of shopping transactions is predicted to reach more than Rp. 100 trillion.

"Hopefully this will encourage growth in terms of consumption," he explained.
