Minister of Communication Meutya Hafid admits that there are still challenges to restoring communication networks in Aceh

JAKARTA - Communication and Digital Minister (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid admitted that there were still a number of obstacles to restoring communication networks in Aceh after the disaster.

This was conveyed at the State Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, December 15. According to Meutya, compared to the other two provinces affected by disasters such as North Sumatra and West Sumatra, Aceh is still hampered by the uneven power grid.

From the data presented by Meutya, the total BTS affected in Aceh was 3,735. The number of BTS that have been recovered actually reached 3,283 or 87.89 percent. However, these BTS cannot operate optimally because the electricity network in several areas in Aceh is still broken.

The ministry, according to Meutya, continues to coordinate with related ministries so that the electricity network can return to function in Aceh.
