Prabowo Meets Sufmi Dasco at the Palace, Year-End Economy and Sumatra Disaster in the Spotlight
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto received the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. This meeting highlights two crucial issues: national economic stability ahead of the end of the year and accelerating the recovery of disasters on the island of Sumatra.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the president and the leadership of the DPR discussed the national economic condition amid global pressure and domestic dynamics.
The government, said Teddy, is preparing strategic steps to keep the economic resilience until the end of the year.
"In the meeting, the development of national economic stability towards the end of the year and various strategic steps of the government in maintaining economic resilience were discussed," wrote Teddy in a written statement, Monday, December 15.
Apart from the economy, the main focus was on handling and recovering from natural disasters in Sumatra. President Prabowo and Sufmi Dasco Ahmad discussed accelerating rehabilitation and the effectiveness of distributing assistance to affected residents.
The focus of recovery includes three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The government emphasizes the importance of cross-agency coordination so that assistance and rehabilitation can run quickly and accurately.
