Prabowo reminds ministers to work hard for post-disaster rehabilitation of Sumatra

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto reminded the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet of the flood and landslide disasters that hit the victims in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra provinces.

During the meeting, President Prabowo invited prayers with ministers, deputy ministers, and other Red and White Cabinet officials so that the victims affected by the disaster could recover from the disaster.

"We are of course always aware and remember our brothers in Aceh, especially North Sumatra, and West Sumatra have just experienced floods and landslides and previously there were several areas, we pray that our brothers will recover soon," said Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 15.

In his remarks, the President invited ministers to work hard to recover the situation, especially for the victims' housing, so that reconstruction and rehabilitation can begin immediately.

Prabowo emphasized that the flood and landslide disasters in the three provinces occurred due to changes in weather and climate, making it a global problem.

According to Prabowo, the disaster is a condition that must be faced with vigilance, but it also makes the Indonesian nation stronger and more resilient.

In facing the disaster, the Head of State revealed that he had visited the disaster-affected locations, both in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.

"I have conveyed to the affected people, I have been there several times. To Aceh I have been three times, to North Sumatra twice, to West Sumatra once, I plan to go there again. I plan to go there at least once a week to see the area to monitor developments," said Prabowo.
