DPR Supports Police to Hunt Down Sunda Insult: Take Firm Action Against Perpetrators of Hate Speech
Member of the House of Representatives from the West Java Electoral District, Oleh Soleh, supports the police in hunting down social media celebrity, Muhammad Adimas Firdaus PS alias Resbob, who is suspected of insulting Persib Bandung football team supporters and the Sunda tribe community.

The member of Commission I of the DPR who deals with communication said that the digital space should not be used as a free place to insult certain groups, especially those related to cultural identity and community.
"The police must take firm action against perpetrators of hate speech and insults on social media," Oleh Soleh told reporters, Monday, December 15.
The PKB politician assessed that utterances that lead to insults against football fans and certain tribal communities have the potential to trigger anger, social conflict, and division among the community.
Therefore, Oleh Soleh asked that the legal process against the perpetrators be carried out professionally and transparently.
"Law enforcement is important so that there is a deterrent effect and similar cases do not recur," said Oleh Soleh.

In addition, the legislator from the West Java District XI also appealed to the public to be more wise in using social media. He emphasized that freedom of expression must be accompanied by responsibility and ethics.
"People must be wise in social media. Don't just insult and spread hatred, because it will hurt the other party and have the potential to cause anger and division," he said.
He also hopes that this case will be a lesson for all social media users to be more careful in expressing their opinions.
"As well as upholding the values of mutual respect and national unity," said Oleh Soleh.
