Pasar Jaya Builds TPS for Relocation of Hundreds of Fruit Traders Victims of Fire

JAKARTA - Hundreds of fruit traders who were victims of a fire at the Kramat Jati Central Market, East Jakarta, will be relocated to a temporary shelter (TPS) after the fire.

The TPS was built directly by Perumda Pasar Jaya after the fire incident that hit Los buah Block C.

"We are ready to prepare temporary shelters (TPS) for traders so that they can trade again. The shelter is on the south side of the TPS. We will work on it today," said Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director Agus Himawan to reporters, Monday, December 15.

The construction of the TPS began on Monday afternoon after the fruit los was burned. It is targeted that the construction of the TPS will be completed this week.

"Insyaallah in the next 3 days, this shelter for traders can be used for traders," he said.

Agus noted that there were as many as 354 fruit traders who were victims of the fire. Hundreds of traders will be placed in a temporary location so that they can return to selling.

Previously reported, a number of fruit juices in the Kramat Jati Central Market, Jalan Raya Bogor, Kampung Tengah Village, Kramat Jati District, were burned by fire on Monday, December 15, morning.

Kasiops Sudin Gulkarmat East Jakarta, Abdul Wahid said, the burning object was a market located on Jalan Rawa Bogor, Kramat Jati. The fire was reported to have occurred at around 07.24 WIB.

After receiving the report, the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-Director immediately deployed 16 fire trucks to the location of the fire.

Around 07.29 WIB, officers began to make fire extinguishing efforts by deploying 80 firefighters.

"We are focusing on extinguishing the fire so that it does not spread into the market," said Abdu Wahid.
