"In general, the flood has gradually receded in most affected locations," said Hadi Eko in Cirebon, Antara, Monday, December 15.

The results of the BPBD assessment showed that currently only a few locations are still flooded. One of them is Wanakaya Village with water levels ranging from 20 to 40 centimeters.

In addition, standing water is still monitored in Panguragan Village and Panguragan Wetan Village, which submerges the residential area of residents.

"The BPBD Pusdalops team together with related parties is currently still conducting further assessments," he said.

Hadi Eko explained that the flooding in Cirebon Regency was triggered by heavy rainfall with a long duration that occurred from Saturday (13/12) evening to Sunday (14/12) morning. The prolonged rain caused a number of river basins (DAS) to overflow, including the Winong River, Pulasaren River, and Siuntuk River.

English:

The overflow of the river caused water to enter residential areas, especially in downstream areas such as Gunungjati, Plumbon, and Panguragan.

"The latest BPBD data recorded flooding in 26 villages and sub-districts spread across 10 sub-districts in Cirebon Regency," he said.

English:

The number of people affected by the flood was recorded at 9,731 people from 3,864 families. A total of 45 people had to evacuate to safer locations. In addition, BPBD recorded 2,816 houses were flooded.

"A number of educational facilities, places of worship, and business places for residents have also been affected, although most of them have resumed functioning as the water recedes," said Hadi Eko.
