Athletics Branch Successfully Overtakes the Initial Target of the 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA - The athletics branch (cabor) has exceeded their initial target in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. So far, the cabor has confirmed seven gold medals.

The General Chairman of the Indonesian All-Athletics Association (PB PASI), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that this result reflects the readiness and direction of Indonesian athletics training.

"This is the result of the long-term coaching process that we have carried out at the Athletic Training Center in Pangalengan, training discipline, as well as the hard work of athletes, coaches, and the entire support team," he said in a statement received.

Indonesian athletics opened the 2025 SEA Games with one gold, two silver, and one bronze. The main highlight came from Diva Renatta Jayadi who performed brilliantly in the women's pole vault with a jump of 4.35 meters. The jump height managed to surpass the SEA Games record and the national record.

The momentum continued on the second day through an impressive performance from Dina Aulia in the women's 100-meter hurdles.

The success was further complete with the silver medal won by Emilia Nova, who created a double podium for Indonesia. Meanwhile, Idan Fauzan Richsan also contributed a bronze medal from the men's decathlon/dasalomba.

On the third day, Maria Natalia Londa reiterated her status as one of Indonesia's most successful athletes at the SEA Games by winning the gold medal in the women's triple jump with a jump of 13.85 meters. The medal was also Maria's 17th medal throughout her participation in the SEA Games.

The dominance of the Indonesian athletics team continued on the fourth day with four gold medals from the 20 kilometer road race and marathon.

Hendro and Violine Intan married gold in the men's and women's sprint events, and Robi Syianturi and Odekta Elvina Naibaho also managed to present the men's and women's marathon gold.

This is the first time Indonesia has managed to win gold from the road running and marathon numbers simultaneously in one edition of the SEA Games. Athletics also still have the opportunity to add medals because there are still two days of competition.

Luhut said that the PB PASI reiterated its commitment to continue to strengthen national athletic training through improving the quality of competitions, focusing on sustainable training, and supporting sports science.

"We hope that the athletes will keep their focus and consistency until the last day," said Luhut.
