Easier To Manage Storage Space On Your Smartphone With The Latest Features Of Google's Photo App

JAKARTA - As is well known, Google plans to discontinue the free service of unlimited storage features on Google Photos. Following these changes, each photo you upload to the app will be calculated based on the available storage size.

Later, Google Photo storage space will be combined with the ration the company has set for each Gmail account. That's 15GB only.

When there's not enough storage space, Google will send you a notification so you can subscribe to your service plan immediately. So you can keep your files in Google storage freely.

There are advantages and disadvantages that users will get from the announcement. On the one hand, the comfort that has been obtained can no longer be freely used. On the other hand, Google has set up support features for users who don't want to subscribe yet.

Introducing Storage Management Features

Google understands that its decision is certainly not acceptable to all users. Therefore, the company launched a support feature that can help users in managing storage space.

Citing Google's blog, this tool can be used by anyone. Both premium and free accounts. Through the presence of the feature, Google hopes to help users to reduce unused files that fill storage space.

Later, this helpful tool will show you photos or videos you don't need. For example, photos or videos that result in a bit of blur, organize files by category, forgotten screenshots, and much more.

"The storage management tool will display photos or videos you might want to delete –such as blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos – so you can free up large amounts of storage," the company wrote via Google's Blog, Monday, May 24.

In addition, the company will also provide a prediction of how long the remaining storage will last. According to Google, the free 15GB capacity provided on each account will only meet the needs of users for three years only. However, the results are more varied depending on the activities and needs of each person.

Therefore, if you feel you need a Google Photos service, don't overcalculate to sign up for a subscription fee. The lowest package is priced at Rp26,000 per month only. You'll get 100GB of storage that's free to store a variety of files.
