X Pay a fine of IDR 80 million to Indonesia for late takedown of pornographic content

JAKARTA - Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Alexander Sabar said that the X platform has paid a fine of almost Rp80 million to Indonesia.

The payment of the fine is a form of X's responsibility for the obligation to pay administrative fines for late fulfillment of the obligation to moderate content containing pornography on its platform.

"The payment of the administrative fine has been made by X on December 12, 2025 after we previously issued a third reprimand letter and continued communication with X," Alex said in an official statement.

After intensive communication, Platform X responded via email which appointed a representative to follow up on the administrative fine payment process in accordance with the previously established provisions.

The Ministry of Communication and Information welcomes the intention of the X Platform to fulfill its obligation to pay administrative fines.

"This step is a form of compliance by the Electronic System Operator (PSE) with applicable regulations, in order to keep the Indonesian digital space safe, healthy, and productive," he said.
