Russian delegation arrives in Washington, prepares for G20 summit of the US presidency
JAKARTA - A Russian delegation has arrived in Washington, USA, to participate in the first G20 sherpa meeting under the US presidency. The sherpa meeting is filled with government representatives who are tasked with preparing the G20 summit.

Russian Foreign Ambassador Marat Berdyev said his party would be in the US capital following this meeting until December 16.

"The United States begins its presidency of the G20 in 2026. On December 15-16, the first meeting of the forum's sherpa and financial representatives will be held in Washington. The Russian delegation, headed by our country's sherpa Svetlana Lukash, has arrived in the US capital," Berdyev wrote on his Telegram channel, quoted by Tass, Monday, December 15.

He added that he would "join the accompanying delegation as a sous-sherpa with officials from the presidential administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the embassy in Washington."
