BYD Atto 1 is selling like hotcakes, with sales reaching nearly 18,000 units in two months
JAKARTA - The acceptance of the BYD Atto 1 is quite positive. Since its launch, the car that plays in the low hatchback segment has immediately become one of the largest contributors to sales for the Chinese brand.
Based on data received by VOI, BYD Atto 1 has recorded sales of more than 17,700 units in just two months. This model has managed to attract consumer interest thanks to its compact design and is ideal for daily mobility, energy consumption efficiency, and easy-to-operate features, including for new users of electric vehicles.
Entering the last quarter of 2025, the dynamics of the electric vehicle (EV) market show an increasingly encouraging trend. The adoption rate of EVs in October and November each penetrated more than 15 percent of total national vehicle sales. In the same period, BYD was able to keep the performance of vehicle distribution stable in the range of 10,000 units per month.
President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Eagle Zhao, said the growth of the electric vehicle market in Indonesia throughout 2025 showed very strong development, even though the automotive industry in general is still facing the challenge of slowing down.
"This momentum is proof that EVs are starting to move in a more progressive direction and have a wide impact on the national automotive ecosystem. As part of this ecosystem, BYD Indonesia is proud to be able to contribute as one of the main contributors with sales of more than 47,000 units," he said in an official statement received, Monday, December 15.
BYD is also supported by a number of flagship models. The BYD M6, for example, remains the main magnet for Indonesian consumers with a distribution of 9,900 units from January to November 2025, making it the second best-selling electric car nationally.
In the SUV segment, the BYD Sealion 7 has recorded sales of more than 7,900 units since February 2025. This achievement strengthens BYD's position in the EV market thanks to the combination of high performance, optimal range, and elegant sporty design that is increasingly sought after by Indonesian consumers.
Meanwhile, Denza as a premium line of BYD also strengthens its contribution in the electric high MPV segment through Denza D9. This model quickly became one of the best-selling electric high MPVs in its class with sales of more than 7,000 units, supported by a luxurious cabin design, a very spacious interior, and driving comfort for modern families and business needs with drivers.
"We believe this achievement reflects the increasing public confidence in EV technology, as well as providing new energy for the wider growth of the national automotive industry," he concluded.
